Deise Greenway

The old railway route that ran from Waterford to Dungarvan has recently been upgraded and now provides a walkway and cycle path out past Carriganore and further on to Mt Congreve gardens, the work is ongoing and the walkway is being constantly extended further westwards. The river Suir is your constant companion and provides a perfect backdrop to this very easy walk. As you pass Mt Congreve take time to explore the little wood on your right sometimes called the mossy bank. On the beech trees you will see the names and initials of many youngsters who passed their time here over many decades.
